Who is a Brahmin?

Who is a Brahmin? The question is around for quite some time. In fact, the question about the varna system was discussed in extent by many. Over the years, I heard pandits talking, read fine literature and expressed views, discussed logically with nastiks, immersed myself in the astiks' divine nectar. Finally I understood the true meaning of caste system.

In these materialistic times it is easier to understand if the universe is picturised as an organisation and God as its Founder. To run the 'organisation' smoothly, God needs several layers of working Executives to take up different roles. His messenger on Earth, Manu did the implementation and rest of the work by creating groups, divisions and assigning work.

The role of the Brahmins was and is - PR. To explain the vision and mission of the organization, i.e. the Universe, Manu appointed this set or group of people to act as communication heads. There are many ways to communicate and interpret God's words to humans. However, Manu created a fine and unique language, Veda, for the unification purpose.

Through Brahmins, God and his Associates understand the requirements of humans on Earth, and provide necessities like rain, water, good health and so on for the smooth running of the organization i.e. Universe.

The language of Vedas was bestowed upon Brahmins so that they build, maintain and protect the path of faith between this world and God's.

Under Manu's code of conduct, it is the duty of the Brahmins to learn Vedas and perform rituals to remain as the communication channels between all human groups and God.

There is havoc in this world today because the line of communication is broken. Understanding the universe is the immediate requirement of every group of human.
